Scott Singer, COP, Head of Global Business Services at Rio Tinto, to be
Inducted into Outsourcing Hall of Fame

Leader in the Industry Selected by Advocacy & Outreach Committee
 
Poughkeepsie, NY, Jan. 8 – IAOP® today announced that Scott Singer, Head of Global Business Services at Rio Tinto and Certified Outsourcing Professional, will be inducted into its prestigious Outsourcing Hall of Fame. He will be honored at a luncheon ceremony during The 2015 Outsourcing World Summit in Phoenix, Arizona, in February. He will also be a keynote speaker at the conference.  
 
“It is an honor for me to receive this recognition by IAOP which brings top shelf thought leadership across the outsourcing profession including academia, professional services, outsourcing companies and many business sectors that are driving business transformation through the globalization of process centric work,” said Singer. “We have been members for many years and the insights gained from regional events and the world summit have had a very positive impact on our transformation programs.  It is appropriate that we also share our experiences with others so that they may benefit from our learnings.”
 
Scott Singer is the head of Global Business Services (GBS) for Rio Tinto, a leading international mining group. Supported by a team of employees spread globally on five continents and outsource service partners, he is responsible for the Information Systems & Technology, Procurement, Finance, People and Group Property service delivery functions.

Scott is a recognized thought leader in world-class supply chain management, advanced sourcing strategies, outsourcing and cloud computing. Prior to Rio Tinto, Scott spent 19 years with United Technologies Corporation and in his last position served as Chief Procurement Officer.
 
In addition to leading Rio Tinto GBS, Scott serves as Country Head and Managing Director for Rio Tinto’s Singapore office.  He serves on multiple boards within Rio Tinto and is a champion for Rio Tinto’s Diversity & Inclusion global program.  Outside of work Scott and his wife Coleen travel throughout Asia and enjoy exploring the undersea world through scuba diving for the past 30 years.
