The Benefits of Impact Sourcing for Business

What is Impact Sourcing?

Impact Sourcing is a business practice where companies prioritize suppliers that intentionally hire and provide career development opportunities to people who otherwise have limited prospects for formal employment.

Impact Sourcing has been shown to provide many business benefits, for suppliers, including access to new sources of talent, higher levels of employee engagement, and lower attrition rates, while offering employees their first step onto a career ladder that leads to economic self-sufficiency through income growth, skills development, and professional advancement.

Impact Sourcing Champions Index - IAOP’s inaugural list of companies - buy-side, provider or advisor - who have distinguished themselves as trailblazers in Impact Sourcing. To be included in the index, companies must complete the application.  Applications are ongoing, and the Index will be updated quarterly in order to continually showcase companies who are doing well by doing good.

The Global Impact Sourcing Award - IAOP has long supported this effort and partnered with the Rockefeller Foundation to create the Global Impacting Sourcing Award (GISA), which recognizes industry professionals who are leaders in impact sourcing.  Companies are recognized for how they build impact sourcing into their employment and procurement strategies and how they have impacted communities.

IAOP's CSR Committee and SRO Community - The CSR Committee and IAOP's SRO Community is chartered with promoting discussion among IAOP members on how outsourcing can be used as a powerful tool for advancing critical social, economic, and environmental issues on a global basis.
